Debt Collection

Overdue bills are not only expensive to collect on your own, but are a distraction from what you and your staff should be doing. We can efficiently help recover overdue debt for you. Often, just involving a third party is all that is needed to make debtors pay their bills. For many businesses, outstanding invoices are their largest asset. A £2000 bad debt can cost your company £20,000 or more. If your profit margin is 10% you will have to find £20,000 worth of new business to pay for that £2000 bad debt, not to mention the time and effort spent on chasing the debt.

Having been established since 1973, our client base includes almost every industry and profession, including accountants, plumbers, the legal profession or major engineering contractors.

We operate our debt collection services on a strictly no collection, no commission basis. A nominal instruction fee is charged on all new accounts passed to us for recovery. Usually this fee represents 2% of the instructed sum(s). In cases where larger (over £10K) debts are concerned, instruction fees may be negotiable.

All accounts passed to us are entered into our computer systems where they are dealt with by our highly experienced staff. When enquiring about your accounts, you have a named person who deals with your cases. Our bespoke series of letters have been created over many years, it is therefore likely that we have the exact initial letter to suit your type of debt / debtor.

Following our introductory letter to your client/customer, we write further letters, telephone, visit or, following your instructions, pursue matters through the court system. A nominal court case management fee may be applicable to certain clients. Where debts are paid to this company, such monies are held in a “Client’s Account” where it remains the property of the client. By agreement, commission may be deducted from recovered sums where such sums have been paid to us. Alternatively, subject to agreement, whole sums may be paid over to clients where account facilities have been established and invoiced commission may be paid to agreed credit terms.

Where required and agreed upon, printed monthly case reports are provided free of charge, additional or interim reports may be chargeable. Telephone enquiries of case progression are not normally chargeable, but dependant upon volume and frequency, a nominal fee may be agreed prior to invoicing.

Office of Fair Trading registration is a requirement in our profession, as is registration under The Data Protection Act. All of the legal requirements of these organisations are strictly observed at all times.
